October has arrived and Halloween, everyone’s favorite spooky holiday, is just weeks away. Whether you choose to go creepy or friendly, displaying Halloween décor is always fun, and you’ll find so much creative inspiration at Family Dollar! The best part is that the everyday low prices won’t “scare” you away, and the $1 WOW items are plentiful!
Tip: When you’re shopping at Family Dollar, make sure you’re also using the new digital coupon clipping program, Smart Coupons. Although I hadn’t planned on buying Halloween candy this early, I couldn’t resist taking advantage of the Smart Coupons to save even more.
I decided to look for things to create a semi-frightening display where I could put out candy and trinkets for the neighbor kids. We don’t get very many trick-or-treaters here, so I’m able to have more fun with it.
This could also work really well in a trunk display if you participate in trunk-or-treat!
I already had a large black tablecloth so I used that for a backdrop, but you’ll find table cloths at Family Dollar too. Also, make sure you pick up some stretchy white spider web and “creepy cloth” for cool texture.
Family Dollar has 50-count Halloween light sets in purple and orange. The orange is bright and vibrant, and the purple is muted and subtle, so no matter what type of ambiance you’re going for, you’ll be able to create it.
Once you have your backdrop set up with spider webs scattered about, add some Halloween décor to the scene. I decorated with foam pumpkins, glitter spiders, Halloween lanterns, and some eerie frog, scorpion and spider skeletons.
There’s no right or wrong way to decorate for Halloween, so anything goes. I just randomly placed my items in different spots until I liked how it looked.
The glittery spiders (available in orange and purple) were extra scary when tangled up in webbing. I let this dreadful spider dangle his legs off the edge of a Halloween lantern. Yikes!
Some of the skeletons were “crawling” around the display, while others were buried in dusty spider webs. It was so much fun to decorate!
Once I had set up most of my Family Dollar Halloween décor, it was treat time! I scattered candy and some super cute light up bracelets throughout the display.
The trick-or-treaters can each have a bracelet and a few pieces of candy on Halloween night.
And don’t forget to check Family Dollar’s weekly deals and use the new Smart Coupons. I scored some pretty sweet savings on Halloween candy (and on other household essentials) thanks to the new digital coupons. They’re awesome!
Happy Halloween!
