This post about Alvin and the Chipmunks movie: THE ROAD CHIP is sponsored by 20th Century Fox. All road trip memories and opinions are my own.
With the arrival of the newest Alvin and the Chipmunks movie: THE ROAD CHIP arriving in theaters this Friday, December 18, I can’t help but think back to my own road trips of yesteryear.
My parents had the guts to take six kids in a station wagon cross-country for three weeks every summer. What were they thinking?
– Mom, she’s touching me.
– Mom, she’s looking at me.
– How many more miles?
– Can we go swimming when we get there?
– Who tooted?
– I’m thirsty.
– I have to go the bathroom.
– I’m bored.
Again, WHAT were they thinking?
But, we visited the most beautiful places, and I have memories (both good and bad) that I’ll forever hold near to my heart.
Seeing Old Faithful erupt was one of the coolest things I ever could have imagined as a child.
And Crater Lake, Oregon left me breathless then, and still does now.
I wonder if they could have handled a road trip with Alvin and the Chipmunks?
Talk about shenanigans!
Through a series of misunderstandings, Alvin, Simon and Theodore come to believe that Dave is going to propose to his new girlfriend in Miami…and dump them. They have three days to get to him and stop the proposal, saving themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother.

Hmmm, maybe my parents didn’t have it so bad off after all? There’s nothing like a road trip! What do you remember most about your own road trips?
