I recently found out that after 15 seasons, Christopher Kimball is leaving America’s Test Kitchen, the show he co-founded. So I thought I’d do a little tribute this month to Chris and all the holiday recipes he helped us to perfect over the years.
If you’re not familiar with America’s Test Kitchen, it’s a PBS show where a lab full of cooks and scientists works together to come up with the best, most foolproof ways to make classic recipes. Recently, I tried out their recipe for braised red potatoes from Season 14, Episode 1 and it was truly delectable.
I got hooked on the show a few years ago, back when I had cable. I’d stay up late at night watching PBS, and this show was one of my favorites (other faves were Katie Brown Workshop and Lidia’s Italy).
All of ATK season 14 is available on Netflix, so check it out for the following delicious holiday-worthy recipes (and lots of others, natch):
- Episode 5: French-style chicken and stuffing in a Dutch oven
- Episode 9: Julia Child’s roast turkey
- Episode 11: Pepper-crusted beef tenderloin roast and roast butterflied leg of lamb with coriander, cumin, and mustard seed
- Episode 20: Fresh corn cornbread
This post was sponsored by Netflix #StreamTeam, but the fact that America’s Test Kitchen rules is 100% my opinion. Also it is true.
Do you ever watch America’s Test Kitchen? Will you miss Chris Kimball like I will?
