See this Aruba paradise? It’s the opposite of where I am.
I never really thought of June as a bad weather traveling season, but I’ll tell you what. It’s putting a serious kink into every single day I’ve traveled by air this month, and I’ve traveled six times!
My current “paradise” consists of sitting on the hard and undoubtedly filthy carpet in a hallway at LaGuardia airport watching my flight time delay further and further. I’m entering hour seven as I type this.
(It’s not even raining outside, but whatevs. I guess it’s crapped up somewhere else in the flight system.)
Probably not Aruba though.
In spite of airport days like this, I do love to travel. I need to travel, and I’ve got to start getting to some islands, something I’ve never done. So instead of getting mad about my flight, I’m daydreaming about Aruba travel, and I’m thinkin’ I like what I see.
I love those turquoise waters and marshmallow-soft ivory beaches, but I also love that the island is so much more than that. Truth be told, I’m not much of a lie-on-the-beach girl anyhow, so there has to be stuff to do, stuff to see and stuff to eat.
This is an excellent video for showing how much there is to do on Aruba, but in case you’re not a video person, skip to the photos below.
I’d definitely venture to some of the more secluded beaches, because the coves, inlets and craggy rock formations are a must-see for me. The views are spectacular!
I’d also love to wander and see the historical buildings.
And of course, I need to do some shopping. I mean, I’m a girl. Gotta shop the deals!
And would I ever eat! One of the best parts of traveling is trying the local culinary specialties (especially when you can do so in this kind of setting, right?)
But for the time being, I’ll just keep sitting here dreaming and waiting for my flight to leave. Or get canceled.
What would you most like to see or do if you visited Aruba?
