I was gung-ho to try Blue Apron’s chef-designed recipes and fresh meal delivery service, and I knew it would be good, but I didn’t expect phenomenal.
You guys, it was phenomenal.
The day everything arrived from Blue Apron, and I do mean everything (you won’t have to run to the grocery store for a thing — not a thing,) we decided to cook Crispy Catfish and Roasted Potatoes with Summer Bean Salad and Garlic Lemon Aioli for dinner.
It sounds impressive, and it totally tastes it, but all Blue Apron recipes can be prepared in 40 minutes or less. Whew!
Look at the beautiful farm-fresh ingredients we received. Talk about whetting an appetite! Everything is delivered in a refrigerated box, so it stays fresh even if you’re not home when it arrives, plus everything is perfectly proportioned for the recipes, so there’s no waste.
The catfish filets were supremely fresh and crisped up beautifully in minutes.
And the potatoes….oh who doesn’t love themselves some roasted potatoes? We could barely wait for them to finish roasting.
It was such a delicious meal!
There are two available meal plans: the 2-Person Plan and the Family Plan.
The 2-Person Plan includes one delivery a week with three inventive meals for two.
The Family Plan is perfect for a family of four, and it’s the one I opted for. You can choose to receive one or two deliveries a week, and each one includes two dinners meant to be served family-style.
Blue Apron offers a large selection of recipes (500-700 calories per serving) with new dishes being added each week, and you can customize your order based on taste preferences and allergic concerns. The only thing I opted out of was shellfish.
Our second recipe was for Steak Gyros and Corn on the Cob with Tzatziki Sauce & Spiced Butter.
Come to mama.
Sourced from quality suppliers and artisans, the ingredients we worked with were ultra fresh and delicious.
My daughter and I worked together to prepare the meal — fun!
Once we had the steak prepared, we were dying to put together our gyros and eat!
And eat, we did!
Both kids and I absolutely loved every bit of this meal!
If you get stuck in the rut of cooking the same old meals all the time or ordering takeout, Blue Apron lets you learn new recipes and try new flavors. There’s no commitment — you can skip or cancel the service at any time, and shipping is always free. Blue Apron ships to most of the U.S.
Oh, and fun fact… it’s called Blue Apron because chefs in training around the world wear blue aprons. It’s a symbol of lifelong learning in cooking.
