    I cooked a turkey this year and stuffed it with stuffing! I normally do the stuffing separate.

    I laughed out loud when she said to not be intimidated by the size of a turkey but instead, look at it as a big chicken! We have a lot of turkey leftovers and I might have to try her idea of making turkey enchiladas.

    I agree with her on basting the turkey. People do it because it makes them feel they are moistening the meat, but at best you are getting the surface wet and that will evaporate quickly in the heat of the oven. Plus, as she said, constantly opening up the oven prolongs the cooking time, and wastes energy. It is bad enough to pay the cost of heating an oven for 5 hours, but when you add on the continual reheating because you are “letting all the heat out” you are throwing money down the drain just so you can think you are juicing the turkey.

    Alright, that dish looks amazing, and how cute with the heart shaped strawberries! Girl, you have to stop by tomorrow and view my pictures of my “Martha Stewart would be jealous pie” that turned out so gorgeous and then hit the floor and was ruined, I think you will truly appreciate the humor of my once again kitchen fail lol

Hey there, i’m Liz!

I’m the founder of Eat Move Make and a North Carolina mom of two humans and six cats. I love to cook, bake, craft and travel. I’m also addicted to tea (but not sweet tea).
