Congratulations to SUBWAY for being the only one out of the top 50 national chain restaurants to meet CSPI’s nutrition criteria for their entire FRESH FIT kids menu!
All eight of the children’s meals which include a 4” sub, apple slices and low-fat milk or bottled water, amount to less than 430 calories, less than 35% fat, 0 % trans fat, 35% added sugars and 770 mg of sodium, and meet both the expert and industry nutrition standards (CSPI’s and the National Restaurant Association’s Kids LiveWell Nutrition Standards).
The results are summed up along with specific healthy and unhealthy kids meals in restaurants in a USA Today article, and it’s clear that while most restaurants do include at least one healthy kids meal, too many of them have extremely unhealthy kids meals as well.
In fact, 97 percent of the nearly 3,500 meal options do not meet the CSPI’s nutrition criteria, and that’s why it’s so impressive that all of Subway’s FRESH FIT meals for kids do meet it!
Let’s celebrate SUBWAY’S long-standing reputation for offering so many better-for-you options with a giveaway, where you could win a $40 SUBWAY card to enjoy a FRESH FIT meal of your choice with your family!
