How to Get Away with Murder

First of all, let me apologize to anyone reading this who knows me in real life. I’ve been going on and on about this show for the past month and this will likely be the thousandth time they’ve heard me rave about it.

BUT Y’ALL.

Y’ALL.

How to Get Away with Murder is the best, most addictive show I’ve ever watched. I started it on a whim because Grey’s Anatomy is on a hiatus and I’d seen all the episodes in the latest season of Law and Order: SVU. I didn’t know much about it other than that it stars Viola Davis and is about law; seemed like something I might like.

a logo

Well, I watched episode one and was totally hooked. Over the next two weeks, I watched the entirety of seasons one and two, even dragging my boyfriend along for the ride. So now I’m sharing the wealth and recommending it to you, too.

How to Get Away with Murder, a ShondaLand show, follows Annalise Keating (Viola Davis), a tough defense attorney and criminal law professor based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Along with a team of her five best students, plus her two employees, Bonnie (Liza Weil) and Frank (Charlie Weber), she works on criminal defense cases while simultaneously dealing with wild drama of her own.

The characters are at once lovable and despicable, which makes the show extremely entertaining to watch because you simply can’t guess how they will behave. The score is excellent, as is the set and costume design, and it’s nearly impossible to just watch one episode at once. It’s kind of like reading The DaVinci Code, where every other chapter follows a different sub-story, so to find out what happens in Chapter 12, you have to read all the way through to Chapter 14. It’s a wild ride!

You can watch seasons one and two of How to Get Away with Murder now on Netflix. Season three premieres this fall, so you have plenty of time to catch up before then! 😉

Watched the entirety of season 1 of this last week in just a few days xD It is very addictive but I find the story a bit repetitive hence I haven’t started season 2 yet. I am excited to get stuck into it and then move onto season 3 when that’s out too 🙂

I started watching HTGAWM when it initially came out on a whim because nothing else was on and oh man! Addicted IMMEDIATELY! This show is such an adrenaline rush and sucks you right in. Those were some very painful weeks when you had to wait to see what was going to happen!

My current favorite is Wentworth I have been addicted to that show. Netflix does not have the current episodes yet. I don’t own cable and we use Netflix and hulu and love streaming shows. I have heard of Netflx stream team but not sure how to take part in it.
I would love some newer suggestions of new and up coming shows because the ones that Netflix keeps suggesting to me I have seen all ready or have no interest in. Unbreakable was a family favorite of ours and my 9 year old loves watching the kids netflix and I love feeling comfortable with knowing those are safe kid friendly shows for her to watch when she’s logged in her profile.

We love that show! You never know the twists and turns they’re coming up with. And all the actors are so good. I still can’t over the fact that Wes played Dean in Harry Potter 🙂

I agree, this is an awesome show! Very fast moving and action packed. I do get a little annoyed, I am married to a lawyer and he said there were not this many murderers in law school!

I have always loved Law and Order: SVU and although I don’t watch TV much at all–that is one of the few shows I will tune in to-, that and NCIS. I even watch the older ones. From what you said-I am sure I would like this one as well.
