Like most people, I get a little bubbly with awards show excitement every year, especially at Oscar time.
But the speeches….“I’d like to thank the Academy and the flarvity kazillion other characters I have written on this crinkled up shred of paper”… those are poo.
I understand the gratitude, but sheesh-a-sheesh, some of them get long-winded.
So in honor of making brief, punctuated, and to-the-point thank you speeches, I shall give you an example of how mine would go.
Thanks to my mom and dad for rockin’ as parents, to my amazing children for making life worth living, and to my hella boyfriend for being you. And now I’m really uncomfortable with all these eyes on me, so I need to get off this stage of thankfulness. Stat. And scene.
Time for chocolate, Merci Chocolate!
Because the reality of Oscar night is that I’ll be sitting on my butt in front of the tv with some chocolate, some popcorn, a roaring fire, and a little bubbly.
And for that I am very thankful!
Psssst, that box of Merci Chocolates includes a delicious selection of rich, European chocolates made from the finest ingredients. Flavors range from Milk Chocolate, Cream Truffle and Hazelnut-Almond to Dark Cream and Praline-Crème.
And they are smooth, rich and oh so satisfying. Scrumptious!
