Confessions of a Disney-holic

By: Liz  /  Published: September 26, 2016  /  Updated: September 26, 2016  /   Leave a comment

This post is sponsored by Netflix #StreamTeam! The enthusiasm for all things Disney is, of course, my own.

If you know me, you know I am a self-confessed Disney-holic. I don’t remember the first time I ever went to Disney World, but I do remember visiting many times throughout my childhood on family vacations and school trips. When I wasn’t visiting, I’d watch my favorite Disney flicks (on VHS of course) over and over again. Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, The Little Mermaid…I know those soundtracks front to back.

Buzz Lightyear Downtown Disney

Confession 1: To this day, if I need a pick-me-up, there are a few really good Disney movie soundtrack playlists on Spotify that I like to listen to! A personal favorite is to listen to Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid while lifting heavy weights. It makes me giggle that no one knows the song fueling my gains is sung by a talking crab rather than a surly death metal dude.

Little Mermaid Disney World

Baby Chanelle, pre-bodybuilding!

Confession 2: I love the 1971 Disney movie Bedknobs and Broomsticks so much, I have a tattoo inspired by it.

Confession 3: Before I was divorced, I got engaged AND honeymooned at Disney World!

So enough about me. Guess what! All of us Disneyphiles are in luck, because a selection of Disney movies is now available to stream on Netflix starting this month!

Netflix and Disney signed a deal that promises all 2015-2016 Disney theatrical releases will come exclusively to Netflix. That means you can watch all your old favorite movies with your family, like Tarzan, Robin Hood, Fantasia, and The Land Before Time. (Man, I can’t even tell you how often my brother and I watched The Land Before Time growing up!)

I love Bedknobs and Broomsticks, I feel it is one of Disney’s underrated movies! I am excited about more Disney movies coming to Netflix because I rarely get to the movies anymore. I am so behind on current Disney movies, so hopefully Netflix will have some good ones that I want to see.

My daughter took her family to Disney for the first time last year. My granddaughter was the perfect age (5) and was in awe of all the spectacular beauty. Disney provides such wonderful experiences for children of all ages. We know three young people attending Disney University and their experience has been life-changing. One of the young ladies doesn’t ever want to come home and can’t see herself ever doing anything else.

I would not say I am a Disney addict, but I do like a lot of things in Disney comes out with. I would love to take my son to Disney World. I’m hoping someday I can.

I love disney movies! I used to own every one on VHS tapes. (Yes, totally aging myself!) After my divorce, I didn’t have the money to replace them on DVD’s, so, I’m super excited that they’re coming out on Netflix! Cannot wait!

I am a Disney addict! I love Bedknobs and Broomsticks too. My favorite Disney movie on Netflix right now is the Reluctant Dragon. You actually get to see behind the scenes of the real studio and see preproduction images of Bambi. Plus, Walt Disney is in it!

This single, childless gal in the city is a horror buff so I am sorely lacking when it comes to Disney and the Animated Genre. Unless it’s Japanese Anime!

Who among us is NOT a Disney-holic, really? I never outgrew Disney. I will put on Disney movies even when the kids are gone, and I love Disney World almost as much as they do. Okay. I love it more, if I’m being honest. 😉

I’ve always loved the Disney movies as much as my kids and I probably know every song by heart. Now I’m watching them with my grandkids and can hardly wait to see them on Netflix.

I don’t have kids so my ignorance of Disney movies is unfortunate. I love that kind of stuff though so really should treat myself to a few of the classics. There is nothing like a happy ending!

Bedknobs and Broomsticks, I barely remember that movie. It was already five years old by the time that I was born, but I remember Angela Lansbury starred in it. I seem to remember an army of empty suits of armor coming to life. Does that sound about right?

I was so jazzed to see Zootopia on Netflix! I’ve already watched it twice (once with the boys, once by myself).

And my personal Disney pick-me-up is “Grim Grinning Ghosts” covered by the Barenaked Ladies. Best. Cover. Ever.
