This Ninja Foodi review was created after I received a sample machine, but the opinions of it are mine alone.
I never expected to like the Ninja Foodi as much as I do.
After all, I’ve been happily using my Instant Pot for the last couple of years. But I’m so enamored with the crisping technology in the Ninja Foodi that I’ve been planning meals just so I can keep using that instead.
The first thing I did with the machine was to make these Buffalo cauliflower bites. You should totally serve these as appetizers at one or more of your holiday parties. They’re soooo good, and they’re the reason I became obsessed with the Ninja Foodi.
Yes, I’m obsessed.
They’re crispy without oil, you guys, and with January around the corner, we’re all going to be limiting fried foods, right? This is the easiest, tastiest way to do it!
So anyhow… here’s how I made them. I cut up a head of fresh cauliflower into florets and steamed them for 2 minutes under high pressure in the Ninja Foodi.
Then I battered the bites and stuck them in the freezer for a bit.
And then, I preheated the air crisper, put the cauliflower in the crisping basket inside the Ninja Foodi and set it for 5 minutes.
And bam, the cauliflower was crisped by super hot, rapidly moving air swirling around the machine.
All I had left to do was toss them in my Buffalo hot sauce and serve.
Loved, loved, loved them.
Incidentally, using the Ninja Foodi out of the box was less intimidating and far more intuitive than it was using my Instant Pot for the first time.
I do have to admit it’s a bit bulky and it has inserts and an extra lid for pressure cooking, so it does require some storage space. However, that’s a small price to pay for something that does double duty as a pressure cooker and air fryer.
And for me to turn around right after making one recipe and make yet another one should tell you how much I love it.
I made a chocolate chip skillet cookie next, and it was so easy!
I mixed up the batter and spread it into an 8-inch baking pan and placed it on the reversible rack inside the cooking chamber. It can be made in the multi-use pot included with the machine or in your own cake pan, so I opted for my own.
The included recipe book gave cook time options depending on gooey or crispy cookie preferences. I went with ooey gooey all the way!
And even topped it with ice cream.
Because why not?
