Quaker sent me breakfast! Actually, they sent me breakfast after breakfast after breakfast of Quaker Perfect Portions instant oatmeal because Perfect Portions are multi-serve!

There are two flavors: Maple and Cinnamon, and each of the resealable pouches can be measured to make a little or a lot, so everyone can choose to have just the right size bowlful.

Quaker Perfect Portions oatmeal

I really don’t have anything against the individual packets of flavored oatmeal I’ve eaten in the past, other than serving size, because one packet was never enough for my son. It sure got awfully pricey to be using two at a time.

When it comes to the modern mom and how she defines the perfect breakfast, this sure fits the bill.

The back of the bags show preparation directions for a half serving, a full serving and two servings. When I made it, I prepared a half serving of each of the flavors, and honestly, I think a half serving in total would probably be more than enough for me!

Just measure out the oatmeal, add the proper amount of water or milk (your choice), and microwave for 1-2 minutes. (I’ve found that 1 ½ minutes works perfectly in my microwave.)

Quaker Perfect Portions instant oatmeal

One of the “perfect” things about Perfect Portions (in my opinion) is that there is no sugar added so you can add  dried fruit, sugar, sugar substitute, honey, jam, brown sugar or anything else you’d like as a sweetener.

I actually enjoy mine without having to add anything else; the hint of maple and cinnamon and the oatmeal flavor itself is just right. But the beauty of this breakfast is that it can be customized to taste.

I have all sorts of things I put in my oatmeal! I always use brown sugar for sweetener, then use peanut butter to add protein. I love adding either fresh fruits or dried fruits in oatmeal. Dried plums, cranberries, or coconut are favorites.
