This past weekend, Lizventures, Inc. (not an actual thing) had the opportunity to travel to Seattle to attend the 2015 International Food Bloggers Conference, or IFBC, and to visit the Krusteaz headquarters as members of the Krusteaz Baker’s Dozen! And boy did Krusteaz treat us right.
Our first order of business was to get glammed up and become film stars for a day.
We worked with Krusteaz to film two different simple kitchen solutions. The 30 second videos we starred in will be available to view on Krusteaz.com soon, and we’ll share them with you very soon!
After a whirlwind of makeup, hair, lights, camera, action, we were whisked off to dinner at the Purple Cafe and Wine Bar in downtown Seattle for dinner and drinks with the rest of the Baker’s Dozen. There was so much to eat, from steak and chicken skewer appetizers, to endless wine, and finally, dessert.
We were pretty jet-lagged by the end of dinner, so we called it a night. We knew we had to be up and at ’em early for big fun back at Krusteaz on Friday morning.
After a tour of the building and a presentation about the company’s roots and mission, it was time for lunch. Being food bloggers, we couldn’t just sit there and be served. We got in on the action and made our own meal in teams! We had access to everything we needed in the Krusteaz test kitchen. Pretty cool stuff.
On the menu: two different cornbread panzanellas featuring Krusteaz Southern Cornbread mix, savory appetizer cups made with flaky Krusteaz Pie Crust, FOUR different flatbreads with Krusteaz Italian Herb Flatbread, and two desserts: maple apple cobbler and berry chocolate chip crisp. It was fun finding out just how versatile Krusteaz products are!
After lunch, we had our minds blown by Todd Coleman, who taught us how to take and edit excellent pictures using only our smartphones. Did you know that you can press and hold on your photo subject to lock the focus? Or that you can take a photo by plugging in your headphones and clicking the volume button? Neither did we!
The next day, Saturday, it was time to attend some IFBC sessions. Our first session was the Krusteaz cookies and crafts session, where each of the Baker’s Dozen bloggers hosted a craft table. Participants picked out freshly baked Krusteaz cookies and were given the supplies and the freedom to create three different cookie gifts.
The rest of the conference was a whirlwind of learning and eating! We took in sessions about everything from sparkling wine to what to do after you publish a post, and came away with full brains and yup, full bellies. Almost everything we ate and drank was local to Seattle. It’s pretty cool attending IFBC, because they bring the best of the city right to you.

As you can see, we had a great time eating our way through Seattle. Thanks Krusteaz!
