How to Have a Healthy New Year

Even for those who think making resolutions is a waste of time, the new year can still feel like a really great fresh start. Even though it’s technically just one day’s difference from December 31, there’s just something special about the month of January. Many of us resolve to have a healthier year ahead, but staying healthy in the new year can be tough when January is still part of winter—cold, flu, and sickness season!

Support Your Health at Walmart

Luckily, Walmart has our backs and offers a great variety of products we can keep stocked around the house to make sure we have what we need to support our health and avoid falling victim to the winter yucks. Here are some of my personal favorites:

Vicks VapoCool Drops

Vick's VapoCool Severe
Vicks VapoCool Drops help vaporize your worst sore throat pain (the WORST part of catching a cold in my opinion). The Vicks Vapors provide that signature cooling relief for swollen throats, making it way easier to gulp down the liquids you need to stay hydrated while sick.

Metamucil Fiber ThinsMetamucil Fiber Thins

Everyone knows about Metamucil! But these Metamucil Fiber Thins are something different you might not have tried yet. They still have the 100% natural psyllium fiber you’re used to from the Metamucil powder you mix into your drinks, but they’re in the form of a tasty 100 calorie snack.

Getting enough fiber in your diet helps promote digestive health and regularity and control your appetite, so these cinnamon spice flavored thins are the perfect complement to a New Year’s healthy diet. If you’re going to snack on something between meals, might as well snack on something full of natural fiber, right?

Align Dualbiotic Gummies

Align DualBiotic

These Dualbiotic gummies from Align are another great way to support digestive health. Along with probiotics, they contain a prebiotic fiber called inulin, which helps nourish good bacteria in your digestive system. They contain less than 1g sugar per gummy, are naturally flavored, and taste great—way better than swallowing capsules!

I find it easier to remember to take supplements when they’re in the form of gummies or chews. They’re good for you but feel more like a treat. 🙂

Dial Complete Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash

Dial Antibacterial

Dial Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash is an absolute must for staying healthy during cold and flu season. It’s formulated with antibacterial ingredients that kill 99.99% of germs, but it’s gentle on your hands. It’s nice to know my hands won’t get dry and cracked even when I’m washing them multiple times a day to keep the germs at bay.
