This has been the weirdest June in years. Not only have I been gone for over half of it, but it has rained almost every day and the forecast calls for the same for at least the next week.
I was trying to corral together the neighborhood kids to help me kick off summer, and I had picked out a couple of ideas from the summertime fun ideas jar, but we kept getting rained out!
With the very last day of June on the calendar, I made a hopscotch grid with colored sidewalk chalk and got ready.
I freakin’ love Hopscotch!
I got some bubbles ready for the kids too. I had a half dozen little bottles and one gigantic bottle with a magic multi-bubble wand. Look at the wind carry them away!
But that’s when I noticed the skies were darkening yet again, and within ten minutes it was a full-on downpour. Sigh.
I had hoped the kids would have as much fun as my own kids did. My daughter loved hopscotch like her mommy!
She spent lots of time drawing all kinds of chalk art creations on the driveway too.
I also have such fond memories of watching my son blink furiously when bubbles were in the air, and he would breathe in a funny way because he was so confused by them.
But back to reality and the present day…
As you head into summer with your own family and friends, be sure you remember to apply your sunscreen at least 15 minutes before heading outside.
The reason I use Eucerin Daily Protection lotion with SPF in the summer is because I’ve been caught in the sun unexpectedly too many times, and as you know, sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and in some cases, even lead to skin cancer. If I have this on every day, I feel better, but I use a high SPF sunscreen when I know I’m headed outdoors.
PS. Shade is your friend and so are sunglasses.
One lucky reader will win a Eucerin skin safe summer care package including: a glass activity jar, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and a $125 Visa gift card.
A gift pack was provided for review and giveaway. No other compensation was received and opinions are my own.
