Whenever I think of risotto, I think of watching MasterChef and how the contestants had to make “the perfect risotto”. That told me right then and there that it’s not an easy dish to master.
So I’m giving myself a pat on the back for never having attempted it, but I’ve always wanted to taste it! So I did.
I tried the new Bertolli Classic Risotto. It comes in two flavors: Garlic Shrimp and Roasted Chicken.
I tried the Garlic Shrimp Risotto and it only took 11 minutes to cook on the stove.
I don’t know how Bertolli did it, but the Italian rice and white wine cream sauce was the perfect consistency, the garlic shrimp wasn’t mushy, and the zucchini, yellow squash and red peppers were crisp and delicious. I absolutely loved it!
I tried Bertolli Meal Soup before when I had the Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken. OMG, that’s good! But they’ve added a couple new soups to the line now: Ricotta & Lobster Ravioli in a Seafood Bisque and Italian Style Wedding.
Depending on the soup, you add either a cup of water or milk to it, bring to a boil on the stove, and then let simmer, covered, for 5 minutes. That’s it!
First I tried the Italian-Style Wedding soup. Not only was it extremely appetizing at first glance, but the mini Italian-style meatballs were tender and scrumptious, and the flavorful broth was loaded with spinach, bacon, carrots and ditalini pasta. Sooooo yummy!
I also tried the Ricotta & Lobster Ravioli in a Seafood Bisque. The seafood bisque with diced celery and carrots was rich and satisfying and the ricotta and lobster-filled ravioli were outstanding.
I really love that Bertolli frozen meals create a fine dining experience in minutes, without having to leave home.
