As I’m curled up next to a heater while wearing flannel pajamas, a fuzzy robe and slippers today, I’ve been daydreaming about the view from the hotel I stayed at last month in Myrtle Beach…
And I like the dream.
A couple of weekends ago, I spent the afternoon strolling through the gardens at the JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, North Carolina.
And it was heavenly.
Because the Arboretum is a living laboratory for NC State University, the over 5,000 plants are carefully grown and evaluated in order to be improved upon.
But I’m plenty pleased with how they look now! 🙂
When my daughter was here, she and I took a drive to Atlantic Beach. It was a gorgeous day, and we had a great time walking in the surf with our bare tootsies. After a while, we stopped to sit on some rocks and just enjoy the view.
That’s when we spotted a mystery man.
He was scraping that basket in the sand to collect something, and then he was putting that something in a jar in his pocket.
Then he started using his hands to scoop through the sand and find his treasures. I have no idea what he was looking for.
My daughter and I had fun guessing, but mostly we just had fun being together on a beautiful day.
Mommy, where are you? We’re huuuuuungry. And let’s be honest; we’re ugly too.
Don’t fear, little ones. Mama’s coming with wormy goodness!
Within the week, those babies had feathered up and flown away.
But they left me some poop.
A lot of poop.
Note: The photos aren’t the best, because they were taken through a window. I tried though!
Ok, maybe it wasn’t so much debauchery as it was fun, fun, fun!
My daughter and I spent our last Florida night together in Universal City Walk, and we had an absolute blast! We walked into a restaurant called Pat O’Brien’s and fully expected it to be Irish, but it was Cajun. Who knew?
With dueling pianos for entertainment and a belly full of food, we definitely enjoyed the evening!
And have you ever noticed that it’s simply impossible not to sing along with a Journey song? Admit it.
So much fun!
Attending the red carpet premiere for Disneynature’s Chimpanzee (opens April 20th – Earth Day) was amazing!
Not only was I thrilled to be there myself, but I was thrilled to see Jane Goodall and the directors!
We also saw the McClain sisters who sang the song “Rise” in the movie.
And there were a bunch of stars from the Disney Channel that you and/or your kids probably recognize!
