In response to:
“Let’s try a new color technique today, Liz.”
When I was touring the New Amsterdam Theater, I got to see the Lion King masks from the Broadway show.
They were custom sized, so the actors were not allowed to change their hairstyles during the show’s run in order to make sure the masks fit the entire time.
They look really heavy, but they’re super lightweight, and to prove it, we were allowed to try them on!
I’m a dork, this I know.
Last month when I was at the Kraft Kitchens for BlogEats, we came up with a fun snack idea that kids could make with their parents.
We used Oreos, marshmallow fluff, regular and mini marshmallows, and a bunch of fun little decorations.
To make the cute little presents, we spread some decorating icing onto mini marshmallows and then rolled them in colored sugar. Aren’t they adorable?
My best friend and her kids came over this weekend, and we somehow ended up in a snowstorm of popcorn!
I had a popcorn ball maker and we popped some buttered popcorn, but then I drew a blank on what to do.
So sometimes ya just gotta improvise when you’re not prepared.
It was fun!
Note: I made my popcorn balls with melted marshmallow. Yum! Jolly Time sent me a popcorn ball kit, and, you can instantly win one too (and other prizes) at Jolly Time’s Facebook page now through November 30th!
I’ll post wedding pictures tomorrow, I promise, (there’s a lot to sort through) but in the meantime I had to show you this wall idea my daughter came up with.
She took one of their engagement photos (this one):
And then she did some sort of computer magic with a rasterbator program and broke that photo down into dots, which she printed onto plastic transparencies, which were painstakingly put into order, stacked, and fastened together.
Then her sweetheart and his friends hung those sheets in a giant grid pattern to recreate the original image.
And voila! I know my photo of the finished project stinks, but isn’t it cool? I love her creativity!
