As I not-so-patiently wait for spring weather to arrive (and then stay for more than a week at a time), I’ve been working on getting my spring wardrobe into shape. After leaving my corporate job, I don’t have to wear office attire anymore, so I’ve culled my closet quite a bit and kept only the things I really like to wear.

A close look at my favorite pieces reveals that most of the time I like to wear, in a word, basics. More specifically, loose, flowy tops in neutral colors, and fitted, stretchy jeans. It seems kind of boring, but there are tons of variations I can do with this general theme when I change up my jewelry, accessories, and shoes. (And boy, do I have a lot of shoes.)

thredUP polka dot box

The opportunity to work with thredUP for this post came up, and I decided not to fight my style preferences and go with high-quality pieces I knew I’d wear often. I love that at thredUP I can get excellent quality secondhand clothing for a song, and it’s even better than in-store consignment shopping because I can easily sort by brand, size, color, and price range! HEAVEN.

As you can see above, my “basic” thredUP picks arrived at my house adorably packaged in a polka dot box. Inside, everything was wrapped neatly in tissue and individually labeled with thredUP tags. So fun!

I chose two neutral tees, one gray and one black. The gray one is by the highly-coveted brand Vince. and is super, super soft with a casual vibe. The black one is by Cardigan and has mesh sleeves and a cut-out racerback design which I think can go either dressy or casual.

Gray tee, black tee // gray jeans, black jumpsuit

I also picked out a pair of gray jeans (by The Limited, a brand I already wear and love) as well as the wild card of this shopping spree – a black wide legged jumpsuit.

The thing I’m most excited about is this ridiculously cute jumpsuit. I’ve been wanting a jumpsuit or romper for the longest time but the practical gal in me has always pushed it to the back of the “to-buy” list. When I saw this one on thredUP, I had to go for it.

thredUP black jumpsuit

The jumpsuit speaks for itself so I just put on some platform espadrilles with it and called it a day. // Jumpsuit c/o thredUP // espadrilles via Payless (very old) // earrings are self-made

A drawstring waist and the fact that it’s black and won’t get stained by my post-competition tan make it the perfect outfit to wear when I get to grub on some real food after my upcoming competition. Yasssss kween. I also think it’d be great for a nighttime dinner date. Maybe some wine on a patio. Definitely something romantic.

For the next outfit, I’m wearing the gray The Limited jeans with the Cardigan black tee. I wore them with a metallic necklace and some super pointy mules for a rocker vibe.

thredUP jeans and tee

And the final look features the Limited jeans again, but this time paired with the gray tee by Vince. With this funky two-toned scarf and some badass boots, this is the kind of look I’d wear to see live music at a bar.

Have I convinced you to try shopping at thredUP yet? Well, lucky for you, I’ve got a 21% off coupon code for you to use on your thredUP purchase! Just enter STR21 at checkout to get 21% off for a limited time!

Which is your favorite of my three thredUP looks?

21% off is a great deal! And what you ordered looks great so I might have to order some clothes for myself. Thanks!

I’ve heard of thredup and visited them online but have never purchased anything. I’m so picky with my clothes because I like to touch and see what I’m getting unless it’s for a brand/company that I already know and love. With growing kids however who grow out of clothes quickly, this is a great way to get great clothing for less.

I like your jeans ensemble. The scarf looked sharp with that outfit.

I need that outfit. You look so good in that. I need to check out this website and see what they’ve got for me.

I have heard of this company but I’ve actually never use them. You have such a cute outfit I’m really going to have to go check it out now.
