Little Messes, Big Hearts #DontSweatYourPet

It’s a little frightening how tightly my cats have me wrapped around their little furry paws. It’s a good thing I love them so much because I’ve certainly become the low man on the totem pole for the thing I value most in my day – sleep. I have a king-size bed with plenty of room for everyone to spread out, but ALL the cats sleep on my side.

It’s not right.

However, when they snuggle up next to me (and pin me into a cocoon) I can’t help but smile. They’re the little loves of my life and I’d pretty much do anything for them.

But, I’m not gonna lie. Four cats do add a little extra mess to my life, although surprisingly, it’s not that hard to keep their mess (and odor) under control. It was my biggest worry before I had pets, and it’s what kept me pet-free for far too long.

Thankfully, I did take the pet plunge a few years ago and adopted four rescue cats. (One at a time. I ain’t crazy.) 

And it’s the best thing I ever did (after having human children). 

There are times when it’s rougher than others (like when my cat jumped on the table, stuck her head in a bucket of chicken and started eating) but the love we share is REAL and all-encompassing.

So, if you’re unsure about whether to take the pet plunge or not, I promise you it’s worth it. Any little messes are easily handled with the new pet products from Swiffer and Febreze. The key to making sure you #Don’tSweatYourPet is to take a few minutes every day and freshen up. 

First of all, I dance my Swiffer Sweeper across all the hardwood floors. I use Swiffer Sweeper Dry and Wet Pet Refills with Febreze Odor Defense. That’s a mouthful, but I want to make sure I’m telling you exactly which ones I use. I buy them at Kroger.

Oh, and when I say dance, I really do, because it puzzles the cats and they cock their heads to the side in bewilderment or give each other a cat kiss. That always makes me giggle!

Then I repeat the silliness with Swiffer Dusters, occasionally stopping to boop a cat on the nose or plant a kiss on a furry head. 

And finally, for pet odor removal, I spritz the areas around the litter boxes (there are three of them) with Febreze AIR Heavy Duty Pet Odor Eliminator and I spritz my “communal” bed with Febreze FABRIC Pet Odor Eliminator.
