Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- ½ cup dried cherries coarsely chopped
Instructions
- Whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa, and salt in a medium bowl and set aside.
- In a mixer, beat the butter and sugars until well blended. Add the egg and vanilla.
- Gradually add the flour/cocoa mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir in dried cherries and chocolate chips.
- Preheat the oven to 375° F and line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop the cookie dough into balls (about 1 1/2 tablespoons) and drop them on the cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes. Let the cookies rest on the baking sheets until they cool. Store in an airtight container.
