Looking for a thoughtful Valentine’s Day gift idea? Create your own Hershey Kiss Candy Jar and spread joy this Valentine’s Day! Follow our easy steps to craft the perfect present to sweeten anyone’s day.

What You’ll Need

  • Glass jar with lid (in the size of your choice)
  • Metallic or glitter spray paint (in color of your choice)
  • Glitter spray sealer
  • Kiss-shaped template
  • Contact paper
  • Ribbon
  • Optional (Valentine’s Day stickers)
  • Hershey’s Kisses candy

Directions

Step 1: Begin by giving your glass jars a thorough wash and dry. Use rubbing alcohol to wipe the outside of the jar clean, ensuring no residue remains that could interfere with the paint’s adhesion.

Step 2: Using a Kiss-shaped template (or your artistic skills for a freehand approach), trace the shape onto the reverse side of the contact paper and carefully cut it out. Peel off the backing and affix it to the center front of the jar.

Step 3: Now, it’s time to add a splash of color! Spray the entire outside surface of the jar, including over the contact paper and the bottom, with a thin coat of paint. Allow it to dry, and repeat as necessary until you achieve your desired coverage. Finish off with a coat of spray sealer and let it dry completely.

Pro Tip: To prevent paint from seeping inside where the candy will reside, paint the jars upside down.

Step 4: Once the paint is dry, delicately remove the contact paper to reveal the charming candy kiss shape. Gently tap along the edges of the paint outline to prevent any peeling.

Step 5: Now comes the fun part—filling your Hershey Kiss candy jar with your favorite assortment of chocolates!

Step 6: Put the lid on and add a touch of flair by tying a ribbon around the rim and securing it with hot glue if necessary. For an extra festive touch, adorn the lid with Valentine’s stickers.
