Ingredients

There’s really no way to go wrong when making a fruit salad so include whatever is in season and available near you. I like to include a rainbow of colors when choosing!

My kiwi berries, kumquats and fresh pineapple all came from Melissa’s Produce. They have a huge variety of favorites along with more unique offerings. I tried sunchokes for the first time last fall, thanks to Melissa’s, and I loved them so much I made a savory soup with sunchokes and sweet potatoes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to peel kiwi berries?

Nope! The fuzz is so fine, you’ll never notice it.

Should I halve or dice kumquats?

Kumquats have a citrus bite which I like (so I halve them) but for the average person, I would recommend dicing them for less of a pucker.

Can I make this in advance?

The salad could be made a couple hours of ahead of time and should be tossed again gently before serving.

How do I store citrus berry fruit salad?

For leftovers, store in a refrigerator tightly covered with plastic wrap. Stir before serving. Fruit juice will start to collect in the bottom of the bowl over time. Best eaten within a day.
